Brothers and Sisters,
Please find the weekly Covid update.
Brother Haggerty asked us to remind everyone to please remain diligent about cleaning and disinfecting the firehouses and apparatus, particularly frequently-touched surfaces. Ensure all chemical containers are appropriately marked, and do not mix chemicals. If companies need Step 1 SCBA disinfectant, it must be obtained from Tech Services.
If Members wish to utilize Emergency Sick Leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which does not come out of their regular Sick Leave and does not affect their Administrative Day, they must submit a Form 2 to Acting Chief Mahoney stating that they would like to use Emergency Sick Leave. It should include your name, the dates you are requesting leave (or for which you were on leave for covered Covid-related reasons, if the dates have already passed and you were charged Sick Leave), the reason for the leave (see the city policy for approved reasons), and a statement that you are unable to work because of the stated reason. Further Documentation and Notification requirements can be found at the bottom of page 2 and page three of the city policy.
Please read the attached pdf of the CFD Covid Vaccination Letter from the team headed by Brothers Mike Donovan and Sean Williams, and watch the linked video from Dr. Storie.
