Weekly Covid Update 1/12/2021

Brothers and Sisters,
Please find the weekly Covid update.
As we proceed with our initial dose of Moderna vaccine, please continue to comply with all Departmental guidelines. Although vaccination is an important step in getting back to normal, it does not confer immediate protection. A second dose is required 28 days after the first dose.
Further, although the vaccine has been shown to provide protection against Covid 19 illness to the individual vaccinated, it is not yet known whether a vaccinated individual can pass the illness on to someone else, although scientists have guarded optimism, given the results of early tests.
Attached, please find a letter from Brother Jimmy Gomes about his experience with Covid.

The following Members have been diagnosed with Covid 19 since the last update and have provided us with permission to use their names for contact tracing purposes. The EMS Division has done contact tracing on each of them, but if you think you were a close contact of Ben Quigley, Tommy MacNeil, Scott Volz, Jeff McGourty, or Anthony Mendonca, please contact the EMS Division.
